We had the most horrendous storm tonight. Loads of thunder, lightening and continual rain lashing down on the roof. The storm was right over the house about 9pm and seemed to last for ages.  The sheet lightening lit up the whole sky with the thunder rumbling not too far away as loudly as it possibly could.

I'm sat here typing this up in bed, when there was a loud crack of thunder, directly over head and the power has just gone out. Whether the electricity company switched off the power due to the storm or whether the power went off due to the storm is anyone's guess at the moment. But it's pitch black darkness, apart from the glare of the laptop screen. All street lights have gone out as well.

The electricity came back on after about 10 minutes of being in torch/candle light. All the dogs were scared of the lightening and thunder and saturated from the rain, so we brought them into the house. Dried them off and had a cup of tea (the humans, not the dogs!! Although the dogs do like tea as well.)

Even now, 90 minutes later, the storm is still raging outside. The distance between the lightening and the thunder is becoming greater and it seems to have moved away, probably westwards.
